Glass that turns into a screen when someone walks up

Four motorised transparent OLED panels in the lobby stay clear glass until a visitor approaches, then rise and show the bank's story, its markets and a live view of its trading floor, and sink back when they leave.

The lobby is all glass and marble; the client did not want a television in it. Transparent OLED gave us a screen that disappears. Each of the four panels sits in a motorised base and rises 60 cm from the console when a visitor comes within two metres, read by a depth sensor in the ceiling. Content is drawn on the glass with the lobby behind it, so a market map floats over the real view. The live trading-floor feed runs through our own control system, which also schedules the panels down at night. The panels have run for a year without a service call.
